Innovative stone paper production process: a step towards a sustainable future
Production of stone paper in factories is an innovative and different process from traditional paper making methods. In this process, limestone, which is prepared as a very fine powder, is combined with non-petroleum resins such as polyethylene. This mixture is then subjected to high pressure and heat to turn into thin sheets of paper. This production method, in addition to preventing the cutting of trees, requires less water consumption and eliminates the use of bleaching chemicals.
